Head down, legs pumped, sweat piling up on your brow. You are going up, and you have been going up now for a while. How long? It seems like forever but maybe only forty minutes. You are coming up to a switchback, is it the last? You turn just enough to see the incline has increased. You let out a sigh, you ease off a bit to gain a breath. A car coming down beeps his horn and throws up the thumbs-up. You can't help but smile and give him the thumbs up back. Head down again, legs pumped, and sweat running down into your eyes you push on. You have too. No one is ever going to climb that mountain for you. Only you can climb that mountain. Thoughts of failure rise though the depths and tell me to pull over and go back down. It is to hard and you cannot do this. STOP. I repeat these thoughts out loud but I have a big smile on my face because I know that I can do this. I know that I WILL do this. No matter how steep this climb, no matter how long it will take me, I will dedicate my life to getting to the top of it.

And there you are, at the summit. You pull off to the side and grab your bottle of water hot from the sun but it is still magic when it touches your parched lips. You pedal down the hill just to realize you were only at the sub peak and the next climb is even bigger ;) Head down, legs pumped, sweat piling up your brow.

| I need to master hill photography. Everything I try to shoot looks tame. |
