The Chill Day before the Worst day

The wooden bridge to get to the rural side of Sangkhlaburi.
The short jaunt to the Burma border had a nice little climb and descent. Nothing spectacular about it. Some nice creek crossings on the way. It was a weird feeling riding the bike 50km without loaded panniers on all sides of me. The hills didn't need to be battled in the lowest gear. I shouldn't get used to that however! Tomorrow I have this huge climb that I can't get out of my head, it's honestly going to be torture. The only positive I can see is that I have to tackle it in the morning. Actually the next couple days are kind of one big mystery. I have about a 200km stretch of rural land that I will have to get through, and its going to be mountainous as well. I guess that's why I'm doing this ;)

Tomorrow will be the start of day 15, that means half of the time on my Thai visa is expired so that gives me another 15 days to get to the Cambodia border. I feel like this is plenty of time.

With this short day done I have cycled 796km and climbed 6195m! The last couple days I have really started to feel it in my legs. Today was an excellent choice to have chill day.

It was a great little side trip to the National Parks (5 days!) but I am glad to head east and get to the ocean. Should be there in like 6 days if all goes good.
Oh, and on a side note I have this super cool balcony that I set my tent on. That mosquito net thing in front of it has a broken zipper. I have access to a roof over my head, the fastest internet I had to date on this trip, and a hot shower! All for 200bht. Not to bad.
It also thunder stormed last night heavily. It would of been terrible to be out in that. I am glad I wasn't. Anyways I am not sure when I will be able to write in this again. Hopefully soon and wish me luck to get over that hill!
